Meet our Social Media Ambassadors

Zayd Salahieh (@pepp.zayd) 

Hey everybody, my name is Zayd Salahieh!

I’m from West Covina, California, studying Integrated Marketing Communications with a minor in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I traveled to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games with the Pepperdine Olympics program, where I studied global sport marketing and advertising with a cohort of students.

I also studied abroad with Pepperdine's Florence program, diving into Italian culture, language, and marketing while traveling across Europe, which was an experience that really shaped my perspective on business and communication.

On campus, I conduct research with Dr. Chris Collins and serve on the Pepperdine Ambassadors Council. I've also held leadership roles as SVP of Delta Sigma Pi and sophomore class president with the Student Government Association, and I work in advancement as a stewardship specialist.

In my free time, I enjoy long-distance running, going to Dodger games, collecting vinyl records, traveling, and eating at the best restaurants in town.

Victoria Garcia (@pepp.victoria) 

Hey y'all! I'm Victoria Garcia. I am a nursing major here at Pepperdine, part of the first class of 4-year BSN students at the College of Health Science, and it is such a pleasure to be one of Pepperdine's inaugural social media ambassadors!

Some insight to what I am involved in on campus: I am a member of Pepperdine's dance company, Dance in Flight, as well as the costume chair! I additionally am a part of Waves Worship, the homegrown worship movement on campus, and I sing as a worship leader at both The Well and Waves Church, which has been such a blessing. I also serve as the freshman SLA for Knott House.

A little more about me, I love to read, write music, eat good food, attend a spin class, go to the beach, spend time with the Lord, or hangout with my wonderful friends on or off campus.

Marissa Viegas (@pepp.marissa) 

Hi friends, my name is Marissa Viegas! I’m a student majoring in International Business and minoring in Marketing. I was born and raised in California! I love it here so much and now get to live my dream in Malibu.

I am so blessed to be at Pepperdine and enjoy being involved on and off campus. You’ll find me mostly with Waves Worship and The Well, where I serve on the social media team and as a worship leader, Delta Gamma, Club Tennis, working in Pepperdine’s Financial Aid Office, and coaching the Malibu tennis kids camps. But it’s the people and community that fill these spaces that make Pepperdine so special to me and what I call my home.

I also recently completed Pepperdine International Programs’ inaugural Summer Korea Program, which was my very first study abroad experience! It was such an incredible opportunity that allowed me to learn, grow, and explore a new culture while making unforgettable memories. I’m so excited to continue my study abroad journey and will be attending Pepperdine International Programs in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for Spring 2027!

Come follow my journey! I truly cannot wait to share with you all the memories and experiences I’ve made so far, from life on campus and my favorite places to eat and chill, to admiring the Pacific Ocean daily and sharing my adventures abroad. I can’t wait to have you along for the journey!

Hi guys, my name is Shalom, and I am PUMPED to be your Pepperdine Social Media Ambassador! I am from Atlanta, GA, studying Political Science and am in the Political Science Honors Program 

A few things I'm involved in: president of Delta Gamma, member of the Spiritual Life Cohort, museum attendant for the Weisman Museum, president of the Seaver Student Global Justice Coalition, and involved in The Well. 

There is truly no place like Pepperdine. I've deepened my faith, met my best friends, solidified my career interests, learned so many life lessons, all while having the MOST fun! On Pepperdine as it is in Heaven. LET'S GOOOO

Rowan and Gordy Nilsen (@pepp.nilsentwins) 

What's up! This is Rowan and Gordy Nilsen! We are twins from Boulder, Colorado, here at Pepperdine. We are on the Pepperdine cross country and track team, and besides running, we also like to skate, surf and snowboard. 

One of our favorite parts about Pepperdine is how we are able to do all of our hobbies within a mile radius of campus. We're excited to bring you along as we share what life at Pepperdine is like!
